Serious Cyclists, Serious About Helping Animals
Blue Ridge TV13, Wednesday June 25th 2014

Five hundred miles in five days- Today, “Pedaling 4 Paws” stops in Carbon County. The cyclists’ goal is to raise money and awareness for the needs of animal shelters they support along their route from West Chester, Pennsylvania to Canada. And they couldn’t have pedaled through at a better time. Carbon County Friends of Animals in Jim Thorpe is set to buy a new facility. The shelter just needs $55,000 more.

Vice President Denise Sebelin says they outgrew their current property years ago. They have too many cats and not enough space. The goal is to be able to have the cats free roaming.

“Pedaling 4 Paws” is asking you to help your local furry friends by stopping in or sending money. You can use their website at www.pedaling4paws.org to donate to the shelter.

This is the sixth year for the cause. And “Pedaling 4 Paws” is hoping to raise $55,000 (doubling what they raised last year) for the 19 shelters along the way.
