Chester County SPCA

The Mission of the Chester County SPCA is to put the “human” back in humane animal treatment and advocate on their behalf. It’s vision is to be the recognized leader in animal welfare that empowers communities to treat life with respect and dignity.

The shelter does hundreds of adoptions and spay/neuters each month and has been supported by Pedaling4Paws since 2009.

The Shelter Visits

Pedaling4Paws will visit the Chester County SPCA after the ride completes and all raffles and donations have been accumulated so we can present a check to the shelter. The tentative date is July 7th, 2015 at 4:30PM. The Chester County SPCA traditionally has a few volunteers and staff as well as some animals to see the ride off as it departs from West Chester at the Borough Hall. Visit with the cyclists, the staff/volunteers and the animals on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 between 7:30AM and 8:00AM before the ride begins!

Shelter Specific Info

Founded in 1929, the Chester County SPCA exists to end animal suffering and to involve the entire community in the welfare and well-being of animals. Engaging communities as a whole results in happier and healthier companions. We accomplish this goal by promoting the adoption of healthy animals, prevention of animal overpopulation with spay and neuter resources, and provision of affordable veterinary services as well as support to the public so that pets can remain in loving families.

Being an open-access shelter covering both Chester and Delaware Counties can prove difficult at times, but we welcome the chance to connect with an array of people. In doing so, we are committed to making progressive, proactive changes to benefit as many people and animals as possible.
